Our dedicated staff works in various locations throughout the United States under the guidance of our CEO who, in turn, is guided by our Board of Directors. The Board is a diverse group of business and health leaders and longtime Foundation members, several of whom have family members who experienced Trisomy 18 with a wide variety of outcomes. They provide direction and oversight to the organization and plan for its growth and sustainability.
In addition, we have two boards of advisors. In our Medical Advisory Board, clinical experts in the fields that engage in the care of Trisomy 18 pregnancies or children born with Trisomy 18 provide us with professional expertise and oversight of all medical information on the diagnosis and management of Trisomy 18 syndrome and related disorders. In addition, our Science Advisory Board advises us on research opportunities and priorities and is comprised of experts in basic science and genetics and in the fields of translational research. Its purpose is to guide the Trisomy 18 Research Agenda and plan for the evaluation and critique of proposals received through our research grant program.
