Research Advisory Council
We will be establishing a Research Advisory Council of leading researchers whose current work reflects an interest in issues/topics surrounding the causes of human chromosomal errors and the developmental impact of "additional" genetic material from the 18th chromosome.
This council will help to define and shape the "Research Agenda" for guiding future research on Trisomy 18 that will set the funding priorities for research grants funded by the Trisomy 18 Foundation in future years. They will also define the "Requests for Research Applications" for annual grants to be funded as well as evaluating and selecting those applications to be funded from the Research Endowment to be established by the Trisomy 18 Foundation fundraising efforts.
In addition, this council will help interpret latest research findings for our lay audience of affected families in Foundation newsletters, publications, and conferences.
